I can fly

because you are holding the string

I can

let the wind of the spirit

carry me

above the everyday

and view

the ordinariness as beauty

my colours catch the sun

from here

and I am seen

pointed fingers

excited faces

from the ground

who want to fly

too

I know no fear

securely held

you unwinding the string

higher, higher

then pulling in

to rescue me

from snaring myself

and if I do

get caught up unawares

or I go off course

in strong currents

fixing any tares

untangling that which

would tie me down

because holding the string

I am safe again

knowing your joy

as you watch

flying each time

a little closer to heaven.
