We were all innocent victims

Of the fate of her illness

Good luck charms

All rusted and fallen to ground

We had nothing to cling to

Save the cold blooded faith

Of the lost, found and frightened

The trust, hope and belief

In the defiant one of death

As we cast our last handfuls

Of earth on the oak

We wept for protection

And comfort and love

Then with joined hands and heart beats

We left for the dance floor

To learn new steps and actions

Waltzing and staggering, wasted and wounded

Towards the triune gates of grace
