There is nothing more powerful than your story. We all underestimate the uniqueness of each and every tale of life wrapped up in the human race.

• Every story is priceless, carrying the dna of mankind
• Stories give us meaning, direction and purpose in the increasingly chaotic pathways of life.
• They either humanise us in the telling, or dehumanise.
• The old saying that “there is a story in us all” is true-irrespective of race, age, colour, educational attainment or religion.

Here at Stories from the Street we are committed to providing a space where true stories of life can be told. Stories that elevate not the rich and the powerful, but those ordinary people that make up humankind.

So why not have a go! Our first book is full of 35 extraordinary stories from ordinary people; nearly all of whom are first time writers. You too could feature here on this web site or in one of the books to come. All you need do is login and you can then start to write. If unsure then go to “guidance” and “write“ for help.

It could be a “People Postcard” That is 400-500 words from life on your street, work, pub or club. Alternatively it could be something from your travels; holiday snapshots or airport blues. A journey of self discovery or love. Whatever the subject if it is about people and places then we are interested, so long as it is your story, its true and does not hurt or damage others.

Maybe you have just been made redundant through the economic meltdown we are in. Perhaps there is a story coming out of the board room or the dole queue that others need to hear. Next year we are publishing a volume of stories rising straight out of the high street and the shop floor.
